Essentials

These are the essential downloads for anyone who wants to play Claw, explore 25+ years worth of community-made levels, and try designing them -- on a modern, Windows 11 PC.

Claw v1.4.5.4 'CrazyHook' 70 MB Highly recommended: in doubt, get this one. Contains the full game with the CrazyHook mod by Zax37, cubuspl42, and TSxD, as well as the cnc-ddraw tool by FunkyFr3sh to fix framerate issues. Works on Windows 10/11 and requires no installation. Settings can be tweaked using cnc-ddraw config.exe if needed (e.g. aspect ratio or shaders).
Complete Level Pack 174 MB A complete collection of fan-made custom levels for Claw, current as of January 2026. Extract to CUSTOM in your Claw folder, or get specific maps in the dedicated section.
Claw v1.4.5.4 'CrazyHook' + level pack + cutscenes 360 MB Same as above, including the complete level pack, plus high quality cutscenes working in-game. Credits to FunkyFr3sh for solving the playback issue in cnc-ddraw, and thanks to Garadares for testing. Hosted off-site. Note that cutscenes are only skippable using Esc.
WapMap 1,6 MB A new, alternative level editor for Claw that dramatically improves on WapWorld's usability and features. Originally created by kijanek6 and currently maintained by Zax37.
WapWorld 777 KB WapWorld, the original Claw level editor complete with a readme and help file.



Optional plugins

Optional plugins for CrazyHook, compatible with version 1.4.5.0 (or later) of the mod. To install, unpack them to your Claw folder; disable by removing the corresponding .LUA file located in PLUGINS.

Widescreen 6,8 MB Enables widescreen aspect ratio, including in the menu and all game screens. Created by TSxD, extended by Emoon to support 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions (edit WIDESCREEN.LUA in the PLUGINS folder to switch from 16:9). 16:10 is also available (e.g. for Steam Deck).
Quick Saves 4 KB Adds quick save (via F2) and quick load (F3) functionality, allowing speedrunners to store the cycles of elevators, toggle pegs, etc. for practice and experiments. Created by TSxD.

A small collection of Claw resources, both official and not, including graphics, music, videos, guides, and other odds and ends.

Level Designer's Guide 23 MB An extensive, eight-part guide by Pejti that covers all aspects of Claw level design: from the basics of the original WapWorld editor to custom logics and external assets enabled by CrazyHook in the new WapMap.
Rich's Walkthroughs 88 KB Walkthroughs in text format for each of the game's 14 levels, written by Rich Kleinhenz. Also includes one for UnderSeaWorld, the well-known custom level by Randall Stroot.
Claw Design Document 261 KB Basically a Claw master guide that provides help with every aspect of the game. Was written for a pre-release version of the game and is out of date, but well worth the look.
Sounds and Quotes List 21 KB Very useful when creating custom levels, this list details all available sound effects for each tileset, including transcribed dialogs of Claw and his enemies. Compiled by Virgin Snake.
Claw Art 1,3 MB Over 20 art files, from development sketches to large wallpaper images.
Claw Original Soundtrack (FLAC, CLAW4.SF2) 373 MB The Claw OST in FLAC format, recorded by MoldyPond using the original MIDI tracks and developer-intended soundfont (CLAW4.SF2) provided with the game. Since the built-in Windows sountfont is not used, the quality is higher than typically heard in-game.
Claw Original Soundtrack (FLAC) 331 MB Same as above, but recorded directly using the Windows MIDI engine. Therefore, while not necessarily in line with the developer's intentions, this version matches what most players hear in-game (at least on Windows).
Claw Music 1,4 MB All the music from the game in .mid format, and also the end themes in .wav format.
Claw Trailer 2,7 MB The official trailer of Claw from the game's website. 160x120 resolution, AVI format.
Claw Help File 114 KB An excellent "newbie guide" to the game by Alienz9k and Sparkboy.
Claw Wallpaper Art 800 KB Background images for your desktop.
Rough Drawings 2,3 MB Unique Claw development sketches.
Map Shots 1,7 MB Map shots of all 14 levels.

Legacy

Preserved for archival purposes, these legacy downloads have been superseded by newer releases compatible with modern systems, and should be of interest only to collectors and fans of retro PCs.

DVD torrent 1,3 GB The DVD version of Claw, with high quality .VOB movies (not playable in-game). Not a current release, provided only for archival purposes (requires a torrent client).
Claw v1.4.4.4 'CrazyHook' (2023 package) 64 MB The previous CrazyHook package, including dgVoodoo instead of cnc-ddraw. In case of compatibility issues with the latter, consider trying this version (otherwise identical).
Claw CD Rip 29 MB A CD rip of Claw. Needs a registration key that you'll find in the attached text file.
Rip version fix 551 KB Windows Vista and 7 fix for the Claw CD Rip.
Claw Setup 63 KB A custom-made installer for Claw that works on modern, 64-bit operating systems. Can automatically copy the music and movies to your HDD, as well as apply the registry fix for Windows XP or later. Provided by SupSuper.
Cutscenes 349 MB In-game cutscenes for the CrazyHook and CD Rip versions. Hosted off-site, simply copy the downloaded file to your game directory.
DirectX Windower 716 KB Allows to play Claw (as well as other games) in windowed mode. Currently unavailable on TCR (falsely flagged as malware by our host).
Fullscreen [F11] 562 KB A companion to DirectX Windower, use this tool to force full screen mode if you're only looking to mitigate performance issues and would rather play Claw in full screen.
Claw v1.3 Update 682 KB Enables TCP/IP and DirectPlay functionality. Required to play online. Already included in the CrazyHook and CD Rip versions.
Crack 552 KB Enables you to play without the CD. Extract the archive into your Claw installation folder.
