A list of fansites dedicated to Claw. Sadly, I believe this list is now complete. That said, you can always go on a nostalgia trip through snapshots of old, now-defunct sites via the Internet Archive, just scroll down to the last section.
The Claw Museum -- created by Grey Cat and dedicated to the Claw community, this was the place to post memories of the old days, as well as read others' stories. As of 2017, new comments cannot be added as the original site is down. However, a copy remains preserved for archival purposes on our server. Highly recommended.
RedTail's Lair -- rather contentless, but seemingly eternal, this site has been around since the earliest days of Claw, and, through some twist of fate unbeknownst to us, has survived until today. Contains cheats, some links, and a poll.
Claw being an old game released in 1997, it is perhaps no surprise that its community stuck to classic forums for a long time, and even had an IRC channel at one point. However, it seems they have finally been supplanted by Discord.
Claw Forum -- Polish, but contains an English section. Run by the people behind this site. Active since 2005 (albeit very sporadically these days), now contains over 80,000 posts.
Captain Claw -- a fairly large Russian community on the social networking service VK that includes several prominent level designers.
The Captain Claw Forum -- the administrator seems to be long gone, and so are visitors, with no new posts in 5 years. Probably the only remaining English forum after GCF's demise.
Claw Forum Espanol -- complements the quite popular Spanish version of this site, but only has a handful of posts (and a really nice Claw theme).
Claw Speedrun Leaderboard -- formed around the Claw subsection on Speedrun.com, this small community nonetheless managed to achieve quite incredible results and discover some glitches that were never known before in the process.
Since Zuczek uploaded the first playthrough of La Roca on his channel in April 2007, Claw's presence on YouTube has increased significantly, with plenty of videos for the base game and custom levels, including speedruns (popularised mainly by Pappy).
LethalPwnager -- Zuczek's channel, as befits one belonging to this site's administrator, it was the first to feature complete videos of all Claw levels.
MawBTS -- Grey Cat's channel has playthroughs of several of his levels, and, more recently, a speed run of the game with audio commentary.
SugheroGame -- for the past several years, this has been the go-to place for custom level videos, with dozens of perfect score playthroughs and a diverse selection of maps.
rengagamingz -- another channel dedicated to custom levels and targeting perfect scores, it has quickly amassed a large collection of videos that includes excellent 100% speedruns.
Pappy QC -- Pappy has dedicated a lot of time to Claw speedruns and formerly held the world record for a full game run with an excellent time of 40:15. Further attempts can also be watched live on his Twitch channel.
Simpson1225 -- speed runs for the full game (including the current world record of 39:42) and individual levels, plus related videos, such as skips and shortcuts.
AndokaiCamanis -- perfect score speedruns, including the current record for a 100% run, and an increasing collection of excellent custom levels named after well-known songs.
Apocalypse -- various videos including speedruns, multiplayer, glitches, some footage from version 1.0, and a fan-made trailer for Claw.
Azzar -- as of mid-2024, Azzar's channel is nearing 220 videos for custom levels alone, plus, of course, a playthrough of the base game. Occasional livestreams, Polish commentary.
Baron FQ -- a new channel focused on perfect score custom level playthroughs.
BorisHR -- speed run videos for individual levels, including 100% treasure runs for some of them, as well as playthroughs of the author's custom maps.
Cold Flame -- perfect score playthroughs of Cold Flame's excellent custom levels.
Garadares -- speedruns, memes, and (last but not least) an excellent playlist compiled for the game's 25th anniversary, featuring a curated collection of must-watch Claw videos.
General Red, Strategist -- has a full playthrough of Claw with live English commentary, and now continues on to custom levels.
MsPenguin -- an ongoing Claw playthrough, plus some shorts from Twitch livestreams.
Old Games Player -- Russian channel, run by Alexander Kondrashov. As far as I am aware, this is currently the only one on YouTube featuring a series that spans all user-made levels.
PejtiGames -- an eclectic collection of Claw videos including playthroughs of Pejti's custom levels, recordings of multiplayer sessions, level design guides, piano tutorials for Claw music and various experiments with the CrazyHook mod.
Proximity94 -- apart from videos of his custom maps, Proximity's channel features strategy guides for specific levels in Claw's multiplayer mode.
Szyszul -- a series of videos (unfortunately, currently on hold) that explores custom levels chronologically, starting all the way from 1997, plus some miscellaneous Claw content.
SharanGamingz -- multiplayer games and speedrun attempts, mainly on custom levels.
TSXD -- playthroughs of (mostly) hard custom levels, level design tutorials, and more.
TaurusII -- last but not least, TaurusII's channel only has 1 (one) video: a perfect score playthrough of the greatest custom level ever, Stargate to Paradise.
With some forums closed and others all but deserted, most fans now use Discord to discuss all things Claw. Other than that, not much is going on, although the Twitter page is quite useful for following the latest speedrun records and amazing fan art.
CaptainClaw.net -- our Discord server for the Claw Recluse. Active since 2017, it now has over 2500 members, and is by far the best place to meet the Claw community today.
CaptainClaw.net -- a Twitter account for TCR, set up and managed by Garadares, who is also one of the administrators of the Discord server.
/r/captainclaw -- the Claw subreddit. Not much activity, but at least it serves the purpose of redirecting occasional visitors to our website and Discord.
Claw -- a Facebook fan page for Claw.
Captain Claw -- another Claw fan page on Facebook.
Here is a list of various past fansites for Claw. While they are now defunct, you can attempt to view cached copies using the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine website. After clicking one of the links below, select a snapshot from the calendar.
Captain Claw Homepage -- the game's official site, it had not been updated since the last century and was eventually taken down by Monolith in 2011. Contained cheats, downloads, tips and tricks, and a forum that had died a terrible death.
Meezo's Claw Levels Page -- the earliest full-fledged Claw fansite, created by Meezo, who also happened to be the first person to design custom levels back in 1997.
Finn's Claw Website -- in its time, this was the best Claw website on the internet, period.
Freyashawk's Page For Captain Claw -- a site made by one of Claw's younger fans. For the record, Freyashawk's mother used to be an active member of the Claw community in years gone by. But be warned, staring at that toxic pink background colour for long enough can be hazardous for your health. :)
The Gunner's Forum -- between 2006 and 2008, this was the main meeting place for the Claw community, and a major improvement over the official, unmoderated forum which had been completely overrun by spammers.
Captain Claw's Lair -- DzjeeAr's site. Hosted a large number of custom levels, including a 100+ map pack. Later was made obsolete by our Custom Levels section.
Snow-jemima's Art -- brilliant Claw fan art by snow-jemima, which can now be accessed via DeviantArt links here in our Fan Haven section.
Snow-jemima's Sketchery -- actually a subpage of the above, contained quick drawings and sketches. Definitely worth a look.
Edd Brown's Captain Claw Site -- while the layout was all over the place, the site itself was pretty comprehensive, with custom levels, links, polls, etc. Edd Brown, who designed a whopping 48 maps himself, seems to have vanished off the radar now.
Claw Junior's Page -- available in English and Portuguese, it was another major Claw site that included, among others, several custom levels by its creator.
Captain Nathaniel Claw -- Gunner's site, contained help on bosses, links and screenshots.
Xero's Site -- site by Xero9009, mostly about his custom level.
Random Claw Junk -- site made by No, mostly about her custom level and a basic explanation of the game.
Captain Claw -- a Czech fansite created in 2006.
